My name is Joe Carley.
I am a disciple of Jesus, husband to Angie, and father to Savannah, Addie,
and Silas.
I work as a development manager for a software company and I am pursuing part-time studies at Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta; my great hope is to enter full time church ministry in the future.
By the grace of God I am what I am.
Jesus Christ has saved me, a rebellious and proud sinner, and opened my eyes to see the realities of His Kingdom.
It’s not a kingdom we can see with our natural eyes; we can only see it with the eyes
of faith. It’s not a kingdom that grows through wars and weaponry; it grows through
the simple message of the Gospel.
And the Gospel is simply this:
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures
– 1 Corinthians 15:3,4
Jesus is real. He lived sinlessly. He was crucified. He was raised from the dead.
Through His perfect life, you are given righteousness.
Through His atoning death, your sins are paid for.
Through His victorious resurrection, you are given life eternal!
This is real. This is true. This is the Good News!
And when God opens your heart to see this Good News as true, to believe this Good News as true, to see Christ as the ultimate reality and to trust Him as your Lord and Savior, you are ushered into His kingdom.
You are made a participant in it.
You are no longer a slave in the kingdom of darkness, but now a Son in the Kingdom of Light.
And so here I am: the age of darkness left behind, the age of light entered.
The new day has dawned but has not yet fully come.
Here I am…between the ages.
My desire for this blog is to write as a think and think as I write, to learn as I go and go as I learn.
And my hope is to point you and me to the great King, the only Savior, Jesus Christ.
